Dr. Tia (Tianyi) Liu brings her artist eye and surgical precision to help her patients achieve their reconstructive and aesthetic goals.

Dr. Liu is a Canadian board-certified plastic surgeon. She is an attending surgeon at Burnaby Hospital and a Clinical Instructor with the Department of Surgery at the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Medicine.

Dr. Liu is a graduate of the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Medicine. She completed her plastic surgery residency training in Winnipeg, Manitoba, which is one of Canada’s leading microsurgery centres. She has also completed advanced European fellowships in microsurgery, breast reconstruction, and craniofacial surgery, and a Master’s Degree in International Medical Research.

Dr. Liu has worked with renowned reconstructive and cosmetic surgeons in North America and Europe, and has taught many students, residents, and fellows throughout Canada and internationally. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters.

With nearly fifteen years of experience in the field of plastic surgery, she tailors each procedure to the unique needs of each patient. Dr. Liu and her team provide exceptional care to patients across British Columbia.
